Kickboxing is commonly called the "Art of Eight Limbs'. To even more specific, we train Muay Thai Kickboxing. Utilizing fists, elbows, shins, and knees to create the perfect combinations. Our Academy is focused on fitness, family, fun and learning a new skill. We all come onto the mats for the same reasons, and have a job to work at tomorrow. This is why we stress a safe training environment, for everyone to enjoy themselves and create the best version of themselves that they can be. We many never fight, but that doesn't mean we don't train people with the same technique as fighters. If people want to beat the crap out of eachother, we will send them to the gym down the road - because that is not what we are about. We are here to train, train hard and have fun.
Kickboxing is such a fanatic workout because it engages mind and body, the class is up before you know it! Starting with a warmup to centre the focus and create blood flow, after that we move into skill drills, explosive portion of class then the burnout, finishing with a stretch to improve mobility and flexibility while aiding in recovery.
There is something incredible about learning a new skill, a martial art. Challenging coordination, focus, balance and fitness. While taking on this challenge with a group of people who come from all walks of life but who are on the mats for the same reason - to benefit themselves in some way. Fitness, stress relief, learn a new skill, have fun - all of the above.
No experience is required, in fact. We almost prefer if you don't have any experience because we can show you everything from the ground up and build strong foundations.
